Small terminology excursion
- build deck: Part of the atomizer where you install your coil and wick
- Clapton (coil): A type of coil where a thin wire if wrapped around a thicker one to create a wire that looks somewhat like a guitar string.
- Coil: The part of an ecigarette that actually evaporates the liquid, made from resistance wire.
- Coilhead (pre-built): Part of an entry level atomizer that contains the coil and wick and can be replaced. Usually sold in packs of 5.
- hotspot: Part of the coil that, when test firing without a wick, that glows unusually bright, while the rest of the coil does not.
- rebuildable (atomizer): Atomizer that doesn't utilize coilheads. Instead you create and install your coil and wick yourself from resistance wire and cotton.
- Resistance wire: Wire that gets hot when under electricity. Light bulps used to use resistance wire. Commonly used materials in vaping are Kanthal, Nickel Chrome and Stainless Steel wire.
- Re-wicking: Replacing the cotton wick in your atomizer.
